Privacy policy

Plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Who is responsible for your data

Nexuz Software Ltd is a one-person consultancy operated by Zac Barnett from Belfast, Northern Ireland. For anything you send through this site, Nexuz Software Ltd is the data controller.

Questions or requests about your data go to zbarnett@nexuz.uk.

What this site collects

This site does not require an account and does not run advertising or fingerprinting scripts.

If you accept cookies, a minimal set of privacy-respecting analytics records aggregate usage — pages viewed, approximate country, referrer. Decline and no analytics cookie is set; the choice itself is stored in your browser so you are not asked repeatedly.

If you contact me by email, WhatsApp or the enquiry form, I hold what you send: your name, contact details, and whatever you tell me about your business and project.

Why it is held

Enquiry details are used to reply to you, scope potential work and, if we proceed, deliver the engagement. That is a legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry, and contractual necessity once work begins.

Analytics data is used to understand which pages are useful. It is not used to profile individuals and is not sold or shared for marketing.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months.

Records relating to paid engagements are kept for six years to meet UK accounting and tax obligations.

Analytics data is aggregate and retained no longer than 24 months.

Who else sees it

Processing partners are limited to what is needed to run a small consultancy: email and messaging providers, hosting and analytics infrastructure, and accounting software. Each is bound by its own data processing terms.

Client project data encountered during an engagement is governed by that engagement's contract, not this policy, and is handed over or deleted at handover as agreed.

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and ask for it in a portable format.

Email zbarnett@nexuz.uk and you will get a response within one month. If you are unhappy with the outcome, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version is published here with a new revision date. Continuing to use the site after that means the updated policy applies.
